Morocco Nomad Journeys

3 days from Marrakech to Merzouga

this 3 days Fes To Marrakech Desert Tour will let you travel across the gorgeous landscapes of the nation on this trip, getting a firsthand look at its people and culture. You’ll also get to explore some of Morocco’s most well-known sights, like the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert.

In addition, when you go through the Gorges of Dades and gorges of Toudga, you will have the chance to experience the allure of rivers and palm trees beside the way. These historical sites include the history of the Kasbah of Ait Be Haddou and Ouarzazat City, a significant filmmaking centre.

The plan will thereafter include a visit to the desert’s magic. The finest sunsets and sunrises on earth may be experienced in Merzouga, a region of the Sahara desert.

Embark on our  3 days Fes to Marrakech desert tour that commences in the morning. Leave the enchanting city of Fez behind as we head south towards the desert. Our first stop will be the city of Ifrane for a brief break, followed by a visit to a cedar forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains to observe the fascinating Barbary apes.

We'll enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant along the way. Continuing our journey, we'll traverse the scenic Ziz Valley, renowned for its palm tree-filled oasis, before reaching the mesmerizing Merzouga desert in the afternoon.

Upon arrival, the adventure truly begins as we ride camels on an authentic caravan across the stunning sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Along the way, we'll pause to witness a breathtaking golden sunset from atop a high dune. Afterward, we'll continue our trek to the campsite.

Once at the camp, our attentive staff will escort you to your private tent where you can unwind and perhaps take a refreshing shower. Following a delightful dinner, indulge in the magical experience of gathering around a crackling bonfire beneath a sky adorned with twinkling stars, while our staff entertains you with the rhythmic beats of drums and soulful Berber music. Additionally, we'll gladly teach you how to play the drums, adding an extra touch of enjoyment to the evening.

I highly recommend waking up early this morning to witness the magical moment when the desert landscape is bathed in the golden rays of sunlight, offering a serene and peaceful experience. Following a delightful breakfast at the campsite, we will depart for the town of Merzouga in comfortable 4x4 vehicles.

Our 3 days Fes to Marrakech desert tour continues towards the stunning Dades Gorges. If today happens to be Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday, we will have the opportunity to visit a traditional Moroccan souk in Rissani, providing a glimpse into the rich Moroccan culture and local way of life. After this enriching experience, we'll resume our drive, passing through Tinghir as we follow the path of the Todra River until we reach the magnificent Todra Canyon. Here, we'll take a leisurely walk beneath the awe-inspiring cliffs, which soar to heights of up to 300 meters.

The Dades Gorges will be our next stop, where we'll marvel at the unique rock formations, often referred to as "monkey fingers." Remarkably, this place was once covered by the sea! Additionally, we'll enjoy an exceptional view of a zig-zag road before concluding the day at a beautiful hotel, providing a comfortable and welcoming retreat.

Following breakfast, our journey continues through the picturesque Valley of Roses located in Kalaat M'gouna. We will make a stop in Ouarzazate to view the Atlas Studio from the outside, which proudly holds the title of the world's largest film studio. A short distance away lies the magnificent Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortified village showcasing exceptional Moroccan architecture and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic gem has served as a filming location for numerous renowned movies and TV series, including The Mummy, Gladiator, O Clone, and Game of Thrones.

After immersing ourselves in the charm of the Kasbah, we will drive through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, passing through the remarkable Tizi n'Tichka pass. Finally, we'll arrive in the vibrant city of Marrakech by late afternoon. Your shared Fes to Marrakech desert trip comes to a conclusion as we drop you off at the nearest car-accessible location to your Riad, where you can unwind and reflect upon the memorable experiences of this remarkable journey.End of 3 days fes to marrakech desert tour
